It boasts a 9.7-inch 1536 x 2048 screen and a design language which is straight out of Apple’s Cupertino offices.

#3. Apple iPad

The 2018 entry-level iPad supports the Apple Pencil for art work and annotation, and adds a faster A10 processor. iOS continues to offer the best overall selection of free and paid apps on affordable tablets.

The model has the same build, but improves all its internals significantly. A newer A10 processor is significantly faster.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 is the best Android tablet to date, headlined by an HDR-ready screen, four powerful speakers and an upgraded S Pen that’s included in the box, although you’re going to have to pay for the keyboard. #5. Microsoft Surface Pro

We’re surprised Microsoft has refrained from calling this the Surface Pro 5, as it’s the biggest improvement on a Surface we’ve ever seen. Despite losing the included Surface Pen, the Surface Pro’s huge improvements help it retain our Recommended award.

Right out of the box, the intuitive Windows 10 makes the new, 2017 revival of the Surface Pro better than the original trilogy of Microsoft’s professional tablets that shipped with the oft-lamented Windows 8.

#6. Lenovo Tab 7

These are not tablets built for the premium end of the market, and it shows. The tablets look and feel cheap and constructed of plastic and chunky in the hand. Packing Dolby Atmos speakers is a nice touch for a tablet of this quality, but combined with the low-res screens..

Huawei’s new MediaPad M5 devices look to be a new range of premium Android tablets that offer top-end specs, but whether they will be worth picking up depends on pricing. It has been a while since we’ve seen new top-end Android tablets, so it’s good to see Huawei introduce three new slates in its MediaPad range.

Two of these devices are called the MediaPad M5, and they come in both 10.8-inch and 8.4-inch variants.

#8. Fusion5

Running Windows on your Mac may sound like sacrilege, but for many its just one more convenient aspect of being a Mac owner.
